Battle of the PSLs – Get a $75 Gift Card to Use at Your Fav Coffee Spot

It’s PSL time, y’all.

And not just from Starbucks only. Dunkin has stepped into the PSL arena but is it as good? The four of us from The Smart Wallet gladly volunteered our tastebuds to try them out in this Battle of the PSLs. (Psssst, we’ll also show you how you can get your gift card at the end!)

Starbucks PSL

First, we compared their marketing descriptions to the actual taste of the hot drinks.

Starbucks official description: “The iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte combines Starbucks signature espresso and steamed milk with the celebrated flavor combination of real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Enjoy the Pumpkin Spice Latte topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.”

We were in unanimous agreement that this description was spot on.

“Sweet and spicy, reminds me of Thanksgiving” – Caroline

“Definitely reminiscent of all things fall and I could taste the pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove” – Lindsay

Dunkin’ PSSL

Dunkin calls THEIR drink Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte. Here’s their official description:

“Dunkin’ takes latte lovers to tantalizing new levels with a smooth blend of pumpkin flavor swirl and vanilla flavor in a creamy latte, topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and cinnamon sugar. The vanilla brings out the sweetness and rounds out the spice notes in the pumpkin, giving more of a custard-type flavor that only enhances the pumpkin enjoyment.”

Note that their description doesn’t refer to real pumpkins. Unfortunately, this was unanimously a miss for us compared to Starbucks.

“Vanilla overpowers the pumpkin completely.” – Alice

“This mostly tasted like milk and lacked fall flavors.” – Caroline

“Overboard sweet.” – Lindsay

Based on our voting choices below, the only thing Dunkin PSSL won for is the price, as it’s significantly cheaper at $2.99 vs Starbucks’ $5.25 for a medium/grande (prices may vary)

We also think this picture sums it up. After taking sips and making judgments, I opened my lids to discover the color disparity.

Just look at the Starbucks drink at the bottom left. The beautiful rich color and actual SPECKS of spice! We think paying more for Starbucks is absolutely worth it. However, if you want a SWEET and cheap coffee drink, then Dunkin is a good choice.

Choose Between Spending at Starbucks or Dunkin

Now that you know what we picked, do you want to try it yourself? Go ahead and pick between a $75 gift card to use at Starbucks OR Dunkin.’

All you have to do is try out some deals from Flash Rewards, a program that’s been around since 2016 and has rewarded $12 million already to visitors over time. Let’s get sippin’!

How Flash Rewards Work

Flash Rewards work by showing you “deals” that you might like, which can include mobile apps, games, subscriptions, financial services, etc. Each type of deal you choose has its own mini task to complete.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Head over to Flash Rewards and fill out basic info (Email, Name, etc.)
  2. Take a quick Survey (it helps figure out the optional offers & required deals to recommend)
  3. Complete deals by shopping Flash Rewards’ great brand name partners.
  4. Important: Follow the instructions on completing the specific number of deals for each level (there are plenty of deals to try – some are free trials or app downloads, others require a purchase!)
  5. Claim the reward and get it in about a week!

You won’t get your reward if you don’t complete the required amount of deals. Depending on your chosen deals, you could complete it all in a day, which users like to do, but know that most offers aren’t instant.

If you think getting $75 is too good to be true, just know that it’s legit, BUT you have to read the instructions and you do have to spend a little money to earn more money.

I spent about $5 trying out services that I became interested in, and when I completed the deals and submitted the claim, the $75 e-gift card arrived in my inbox in a week!

Good luck, have fun, and remember it takes a little effort, but it’s legit! PSLs forever! (Or the new Apple Crisp Machiatto?)
