The holiday season is the most wonderful time of year. Holidays, gifts, family – and seasonal jobs. Tons of them. To prep for the winter shopping season, Kohl’s is the latest company to announce its plan to hire seasonal workers.

In addition, the retail giant is holding a virtual Hiring Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time on October 3rd. Virtually attending can boost your job prospects and give you available interview experience! If you’re interested in picking up a seasonal gig with Kohl’s, here’s what you should know.

Kohl’s Holiday Hiring Push

Most major companies, especially retail brands, expand their staff toward the end of the year to prepare for the holiday rush. Currently, Kohl’s has about 3,000 openings listed online, but ultimately the company plans to fill roughly 90,000 jobs.

Most of the roles will be either in-store or in distribution. Amid the pandemic, Kohl’s realizes more customers will be shopping online than in person. As a result, the company is expecting to focus heavily on meeting higher-than-usual digital demand and needs a more robust fulfillment team than ever.

Moreover, Kohl’s realizes that this isn’t exactly an ideal time to come into a store for a job interview. That’s why Kohls’ Hiring Day on October 3rd will be held completely over the phone. Once you apply for a seasonal role at Kohl’s, you can schedule a phone interview for sometime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the 3rd. You can also text APPLY to 24508 to submit your application and schedule your call. You’ll speak with a real hiring manager, and could even get the job on the spot!

“Just as we have in previous years, we plan to hire seasonal associates across our network to support the increased demand we experience during the holidays, both in-store and through our digital channels including Kohls.com and the Kohl’s App. We know customers will be shopping online more than ever this year and we’re staffing accordingly to support increased digital fulfillment efforts,” Kohl’s’ Chief People Officer Marc Chini said in a statement.

New seasonal opportunities are popping up every week, so don’t get discouraged if this isn’t the right role for you! UPS, Amazon, and Walmart have already introduced new jobs, and we expect more companies as we get closer to December. Stick with The Smart Wallet for updates on seasonal jobs through the holidays!
