Tired of Work From Home? Try It In a Vegas Hotel
Most Americans have been working at home for the majority of 2020. Since lockdowns started in March, many offices and workspaces have yet to bring employees back. As a result, many people are, understandably, a bit stir crazy cooped up at home all day.
If cabin fever is setting in, maybe it’s time you found a more luxurious cabin. How does a 5-star Las Vegas hotel room sound? MGM Resorts, the owner of some of the largest, grandest hotels in the world, is offering travel packages for people to spend three, four, or five weeknights working from “home” at the world-famous Bellagio or ARIA hotel.
Viva Las Office Travel Packages
Partly in an attempt to bring tourists back to Las Vegas, MGM is offering three luxury packages for workers needing a change of scenery. There are three “Viva Las Office” packages, each with a minimum of three nights:
- The Associate: A resort king room at the Bellagio or a deluxe king room at the ARIA. Comes with a $50 food and drink credit per night, and a $75 fare with JSX, a short-haul private airline. Packages start at $126/night for 3 nights, $114/night for 4 nights, $101/night for 5 nights
- The Manager: A fountain view room at the Bellagio or a strip view room at the ARIA. Comes with a $50 food and drink credit per night, $100 fare with JSX, two private pool day passes, and a neck and shoulder massage. Packages start at $203/night for 3 nights, $170/night for 4 nights, $147.80/night for 5 nights
- The Executive: A Salone Suite at the Bellagio or a City Corner Suite at the ARIA. Comes with a $75 food and drink credit per night, $125 fare with JSX, a full-day cabana rental, and a poolside massage for one. Packages start at $393/night for 3 nights, $329.75/night for 4 nights, $281.80/night for 5 nights
“Each room is office-ready with fast and secure wi-fi, a desk, a chair, and plenty of Video meeting-worthy backdrops, making it the perfect war room, command center, corner office, and break room all rolled into one,” according to MGM.
Every package also includes a “Safety Amenity Kit” with a mask, hand sanitizer and stylus pen, and offers room check in starting at 8 a.m. and check out until 6 p.m. Last, but certainly not least, every package comes with your own “executive assistant,” a concierge dedicated to helping you manage your schedule and book massages, dinners, and pool days.
Working from Home Safety in Vegas
Las Vegas is best known for fun and games, but the city is taking COVID-19 seriously. MGM Resorts extensively screens employees before work, and medical staff is on hand to assist any guests or employees who feel ill. Masks are required at all MGM properties, both inside and out, and employees wear gloves while on duty. There are social distancing measures in place, and plexiglass installed where it’s not possible. In addition, MGM Resorts is offering contactless check-in, mobile room keys, and has custom hand sanitizing stations across its properties. For a full list of safety measures check here.
WFH (Working From Hotels)
Even if Vegas isn’t your speed, there are hotels in other U.S. states offering similar packages. New York, North Carolina, and California are other options for anyone totally over working from home. Travel might be scary during the pandemic but as long as you wear a mask and social distance in public areas, you should be at relatively low risk of catching the virus. But you can still prepare ahead of time and learn how to stay safe in a hotel.
Wherever you decide to travel, enjoy your stay and your break from home. Just make sure you actually get some work done during your workweek vacation.
