Chances are you’ve had or considered getting a Costco membership at some point.

If you’re a loyal member, I don’t need to sell you on the warehouse’s supersized products, generous food samples, or the iconic $10 pizza and Very Berry Sundaes at the end of your shopping experience.

But to the uninitiated, this place has anything you could need and then some. It’s no wonder why many first-timers seem so overwhelmed when they first visit one of their locations.

Here are some of Costco’s best items to help you navigate the store a bit better!

1. Snack Packs

Costco has a reputation for carrying a wide variety of snacks. While they have the standard large-sized snack bags or boxes available, you can also find assortment packs of chips, cereals, gummies, and other non-perishables if you want to mix things up.

Hands down, though, the best part about Costco’s snack section is its individually-sized bulk packages. They’re perfect if you’re trying to watch your portion sizes or make restocking your pantry a breeze.

2. Frozen Premade Meals

After a long day of work, cooking something from scratch is probably the last thing you want to do. Luckily, Costco has an entire section dedicated to affordable bulk frozen meals to make your life easier! For example, a 12-pack Sabatasso’s single-serve pizzas are $14.99, or roughly $1.25 per serving. The store also carries Eggo Pancakes, microwavable wings, and hundreds of other options that can satisfy any taste.

3. Vitamins and OTCs

Costco’s pharmacy section is your one-stop shop for multivitamins, protein powders, over-the-counter medicine, and even vaccinations if you need them.

But just because the products are cheaper than other brands, it doesn’t make them any less effective. According to the warehouse’s site, vitamins and medicine must go through strict quality controls to ensure purity and potency. Their pharmacy aisle also has bulk packages of soaps, shampoos, and other hygiene products if you need to stock up.

4. Cheese

If your household loves cheese, Costco can satisfy your craving with endless choices. For example, roughly $20 can buy you a 5-pound block of sharp cheddar, Swiss, or white American cheese. Costco also has a lot of individually packed cheese options, making them ideal for a midday snack.

5. Frozen Fruits And Veggies

Are you trying to maintain a healthy diet but want to avoid going to the store every week? Costco’s frozen fruits and veggies section offers various sizes at a low price point. Their different berry selections, organic smoothie blends, and vegetable mixes will last you for months, help you stay healthy, and save time.

6. Rotisserie Chicken

Indulge in one of Costco’s succulent rotisserie chickens at an absurdly low price of $4.99! Over 91 million were sold in 2019 alone, so it’s safe to say this is a fan favorite.

“After a few bites, my boyfriend and I agreed this was easily the best grocery-store rotisserie chicken we’ve ever eaten,” says Lara Walsh from Insider.

From personal experience, Costco chicken has the perfect balance of flavor and juiciness that other supermarkets haven’t been able to match. The bird’s sheer size is also convenient if you want to split it up over several meals.

7. Food Court Favorites

No Costco list would be complete without mentioning its iconic food court. I’ve even met die-hard fans who will visit their local Costco to enjoy the food! Aside from their famous $1.50 hot dog combo, Costco’s dining area has other fan favorites like pizza, hot churros, sundaes, and the cheesy Chicken Bake.

Once you’re done shopping, nothing beats relaxing at one of their red and white picnic tables with a massive slice of pizza and your favorite soft drink!
