The retail sector of the economy is projected to outpace that of last year. With higher consumer confidence, retailers are gearing up for a holiday shopping season like no other with increased seasonal hiring.
Employers are also gearing up for more in-person shopping this year and so they’re looking to hire cashiers, delivery workers, technicians…the list goes on. This is your opportunity to start a side gig to earn cash ahead of the holiday rush.
Amazon
Amazon, the most popular online retailer today, is putting its money where its mouth is this holiday season. They’re looking to hire about 150,000 seasonal roles And get this: they’re offering up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus, pay of $19 per hour (up to $22 per hour depending on the role), and access to benefits with most positions. The U.S. Postal Service is actively hiring 28,000 seasonal employees this year, down from over 40,000 seasonal employees in 2021, as we approach peak season for mail and deliveries. Kohl’s is aiming to hire 90,000 seasonal workers in 2022 (also similar to last year) to fill positions in stores and warehouses in order to meet customer demand this year.
