Let’s talk about food, baby
As someone that just LOVES food, Yelp has provided a way for me to find really cool spots to eat at in addition to avoiding the duds.
Don’t know what to do for lunch? Open up Yelp.
Looking for a Happy Hour nearby? Open up Yelp.
While I primarily use it for restaurant lookup, Yelp offers so much more to include all types of businesses like cafes, shopping, beauty, contractors, and more. Anywhere you encounter, it’s most likely on Yelp and there’s a rating for it made by real people.
Save money by going to trusted places
Before I choose to spend my money anywhere, I check if the business is on Yelp. Their rating and reviews will give you a better picture of what others have experienced. It’s not meant to be the final say, but if most people are leaving a 1-star rating (the lowest), then it’s your choice to avoid the place to save money or go in with known expectations.
If you don’t necessarily care about reading other people’s reviews and want to forge your own path that’s cool too. Yelp is still an amazing business directory when you need to find a place to eat, to do some work at, to shop, to work out etc.
Write reviews and be an Elite
If you want to help others make a decision about a business, you can also write reviews to contribute.
When you write enough solid reviews, you can become a Yelp Elite and you’ll know who’s who by the Elite icon badge next to a reviewer’s name. These reviews are considered to be more trustworthy by Yelp.
I know VERY well about the Elite system because I’ve been one for the past 8 years. There are amazing perks that come with being one!
You can attend/get:
