How to Become an Adidas Product Tester

It’s not just influencers who get to test products for free. If you’re active in fitness and sports and want to help Adidas test its latest products, you can apply for the Adidas product testing program that’s been around since 2015.

You don’t actually get to keep the products, though, and if you’re still interested in learning more,  we’ve got all the details.

What is the Adidas Testing Program and How to Apply

The Adidas testing program allows active individuals aged 18+ to test apparel and footwear to help the brand get honest feedback from real users. This is their method of getting valuable opinions to fine-tune their products before release or to improve their existing products.

The products are meant to be tested for an X amount of time and then mailed back courtesy of Adidas. They’ll also ask you to keep detailed logs of your activity with the products.

Potential testers need to meet a minimum set of requirements, most notably:

  • You reside in the U.S. or parts of the EU
  • Providing body measurements
  • You cannot test any competitor products (Nike also has a testing program)
  • You cannot share what you’re testing on social media or other forms of communication

That last bullet point is important! They want real feedback without influence, so they don’t want pictures or texts sent and posted with a humble brag that Adidas picked you to test.

If you still want to go for it, head to their website to apply for the Adidas product testing program.

What the Adidas Product Testing Application Includes

I got through about 99% of the application to see what it would ask, but I didn’t submit it because I wasn’t active enough to be their target demographic of testers. They truly want active individuals to be able to put their products to the test in real situations, and I didn’t want to clutter their inbox.

That said, I can still share what the application entails to give you a sneak peek.

At the start of the application, you can choose what you want to test (Apparel/Footwear/Both) and select a gender (M/F).

Currently, they only offer these sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 2X, and 4X.

You’ll be required to provide body measurements like chest, waist, hip, and thigh circumference, and because I selected female,  they also asked for my under bust circumference and bra size.

After they asked what your shoe size is, I appreciated that they gave a choice for foot width:

  • Extra Narrow
  • Narrow
  • Medium
  • Wide
  • Extra Wide

At the time of writing, they only offered 2 options for Category Interests, even though it says you can pick up to 5. I picked Outdoor instead of Soccer/Football, but you can choose both if that applies. Also, you may be shown different options if you select Male or when you apply, as their products can rotate, such as Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Swimming, Wrestling, etc.

After I picked Outdoor, it gave me even more specific activities to choose from:

  • Alpine Climbing
  • Bouldering
  • Freeride
  • Mountain/Trailrunning
  • Mountaineering
  • Ski Touring
  • Skiing
  • Snowboarding
  • X-Country Skiing

Certain options, like Alpine Climbing, will ask for your average amount of time and performance level. I picked Snowboarding even though I haven’t gone in years, but that option didn’t ask any further questions. This was when I knew I was definitely not the target audience they were looking for, and why I didn’t fully submit my application!

The last part of the application asks for personal details like your address (to mail products to if you get accepted), height, and birthday. Once submitted, you’ll wait to hear back!

What Happens When You’re Accepted as an Adidas Product Tester

If you get the positive notification that you’re accepted, you’ll be asked to provide feedback through questionnaires and potential interviews. In addition to not posting about the testing products on social media, you’re also not allowed to wear them in areas where people are familiar with Adidas, particularly footwear/fashion and sporting events and footwear/apparel stores.

They genuinely want private testers and reserve the right to terminate the agreement at any time.

Once you complete the testing duration for each product, you mail back the item (Adidas foots the shipping costs), as you don’t get to keep whatever you test.

Does Adidas Pay Their Testers?

No, and they ensure you know it upon your first visit to the site with a popup message before you can do anything else.

The program’s purpose is for you to test Adidas products without mass public knowledge and to provide real feedback on the products’ performance while engaging in the athletic activities you enjoy.

Fun fact: Their signature three stripes on their products represent the brand’s ambition to challenge the status quo, push boundaries, and strive for progress.

If you feel you meet the requirements and have no problem testing diligently and privately, be sure to apply to the Adidas product testing program.

While You Wait, Here’s How to Get $750 to Spend on Adidas Products

Once you submit your application, there’s no telling how long it’ll take to hear back, so why not earn an extra $750 (or less if you want) from Flash Rewards to get the Adidas products you want and be able to show off?

Anyone 18+ can participate. It’s a rewards program that’s been around since 2016 and has rewarded $12 million to users over time.

Flash Rewards work by showing you “deals” that they think you would like. This includes mobile apps and games, subscriptions, financial services, etc. Each type of deal you choose has its own mini-task to complete.

It goes like this:

  1. Head over to Flash Rewards and fill out basic info (Email, Name, etc.)
  2. Take a quick Survey (it helps figure out the optional offers & required deals to recommend)
  3. Complete deals by shopping Flash Rewards’ great brand-name partners.
  4. Important: Follow the instructions on completing the specific number of deals for each level and get to Level 5 to get the maximum reward! (there are plenty of deals to try – some are free trials or app downloads, others require a purchase!)
  5. Claim the reward and get it in about a week!

You won’t get the cash if you don’t complete the required deals.

Depending on your chosen deals, you could complete it all in a day, which users like to do, but know that most offers aren’t instant. Sure, it takes a little more effort but it’s legit. Once you get the money, go on an Adidas shopping spree!
