How this Stay-At-Home Mom Earned Over $700 For Her Family Disney Trip Using Swagbucks
We reached out to Brittany Oglivie when we saw her comment on one of The Smart Wallet’s Facebook ad saying she makes side money with Swagbucks, a popular rewards program that lets you cash in on online activity.
Learn how she uses Swagbucks so you can earn some extra side money, too!
The Smart Wallet: Hi Brittany! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. What do you do for a living?
Brittany: Right now, I’m a SAHM to two daughters (they’re 4 and 1!), but soon I’ll be going back to work full-time as a juvenile probation officer. While being a SAHM, I deliver with Amazon Flex, Doordash, and Postmates. I also earn money with Swagbucks and other apps!
The Smart Wallet: You keep yourself busy! How did you learn about Swagbucks, and what made you decide to join?
Brittany: I first learned about Swagbucks through a local parent group that I’m in. I decided to join to see if all the “hype” was true and if I could really earn gift cards. I was glad to find out that it was all true!
The Smart Wallet: How long have you been a member? What do you like most about Swagbucks?
Brittany: It’s been around 10 months. The opportunities to qualify for larger surveys and research studies are helping me to pay for our first family Disney trip this year!
The Smart Wallet: How exciting! How do you personally use Swagbucks to earn money?
Brittany: Most of my time on Swagbucks is spent doing the Surveys and Offers in the “Discover” section. I probably spend about 2-3 hours a day on it, 1-2 hours during nap time, and 1 at my children’s bedtime.
The Smart Wallet: How much have you earned so far?
Brittany: I’ve earned over $700, which doesn’t include the research studies/focus groups that paid additional outside Swagbucks. I’ve earned an additional $165 on those!
The Smart Wallet: That’s amazing. What have you used your earnings on so far, or do you plan to?
Brittany: I initially used my earnings to give Christmas gifts to my children and support my Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts habit. Once we decided to go to Disney World, I began getting Walmart gift cards to purchase Disney gift cards at Sam’s Club because they sell at a 4% discount.
The Smart Wallet: Good to know about the discount! Every little bit helps. And your Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts habits sound really relatable. What are your favorite items to get?
Brittany: A venti iced Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks and my favorite Dunkin Donuts drink is a large Butter Pecan Iced Coffee!
The Smart Wallet: That’s great Swagbucks is helping you fuel your habit for free and for helping you earn money for your future Walt Disney World trip! What do you think would make the program better?
Brittany: There is not much I can think of- it is already great! I guess even more opportunities to earn?
The Smart Wallet: Is there any advice you’d give to people just starting out with Swagbucks?
Brittany: Make sure you read the rules and terms when completing Offers. When I initially started, I was actually deactivated from Swagbucks for about a month, and I had no clue why. I had ticketed an offer that didn’t credit right away, thinking that was what I needed to do- I later found out it would not credit for 32 days, and luckily, I was reactivated!
The Smart Wallet: Good to know! What are some of your other favorite earning money apps or sites?
Brittany: Fetch (iOS and Android), Ibotta, Checkout 51, Dosh, Shopkick, and CoinOut.
The Smart Wallet: Thanks for chatting with us, Brittany! Enjoy your upcoming trip!
