Get Up to $30 in Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret Class Action Settlement
Everyone knows the classic mall mainstays: Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret.
The body care/home fragrance chain and lingerie/bra/swimwear company are brand giants that have been around for decades. Their semi-annual sales are popular, encouraging shoppers to buy in bulk or pre-shop for the holidays.
If you’ve shopped at these two stores, you could potentially receive money vouchers to use on your next purchase. Let’s take a look at their latest class action settlement!
Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret Class Action
According to the plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit, Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret printed receipts that included more than the last five digits of card numbers. This violates the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) and jeopardizes the customer’s information with the non-compliant receipts.
Both brands have agreed to settle, even though they haven’t admitted any wrongdoing.
How to Qualify for the Class Action
You can qualify if you’ve purchased at Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and/or PINK stores between May 10, 2021 and August 8, 2021.
The deadline to claim at the official settlement site is July 16, 2024, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for October 24, 2024. You should expect to receive your voucher(s) in winter or beyond if you submitted a valid claim.
How Much Money Can You Get in the Class Action
If you’ve shopped at Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret/PINK, you can get two vouchers, each worth $15. If you’ve shopped at one of the two brands, you’ll get one $15 voucher to use on your next purchase at the same brand.
To submit a valid claim, upload a receipt or account statement on the official settlement site. As you never know when class action settlements can occur, getting receipts via email is suggested so you can easily search for them when the time arises.
If Eligible, Do Nothing and Still Get $5
Those who purchased from May 10, 2021, through August 8, 2021, with a My Bath & Body Works Rewards or Victoria’s Secret credit or debit card can still get a $5 voucher if they don’t submit a claim.
As their records automatically find customers who purchased using the brand’s cards in that period, you’ll still need to check your email to redeem.
However, if you know you purchased from either brand during that time, you should submit a claim to maximize your voucher amount! Why not get up to $30 back?
Additional Beauty Settlements To Keep an Eye On
We found some more filed but not yet official settlements that we’ll monitor in case they fully evolve into open class action settlements.
Sunscreen class action lawsuits:
- Claims that Walmart misrepresented Equate sunscreen as “reef-friendly.”
- Claims that Big Lots’ Sound Body sunscreen is mislabeled as “reef conscious.”
- Claims that MISSHA and A’Pieu sunscreen products are falsely advertised as “waterproof” and “sweatproof.”
- Claims that Supergoop falsely advertised the SPF of its Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 products (significantly lower than advertised, for example, SPF 20 instead of 40)
Acne products class action lawsuits:
The following brands face benzoyl peroxide class action lawsuits as the ingredient allegedly degrades to become benzene, a cancer-causing human carcinogen.
- Neutrogena
- Proactiv
- Clinique
- CeraVe
- La Roche-Posay
- Target
- Walgreen
At this time, though, no OTC benzoyl peroxide products have been recalled. However, since sunscreen and acne treatments are commonly used health & beauty products, we’ll update our readers should anything happen!
