Black Friday shoppers beware: many major stores will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Instead of devouring your meal and hitting retail stores right after, you might want to grab a second plate and stay in.

BestBlackFriday.com keeps a running list of major stores closed on Turkey Day. So far they’ve confirmed that 35 retailers will not be open on Thursday, November 28.

Big names like Costco, Nordstrom, and Marshalls are among those that will be closed.

Most companies want to give their employees time off to spend with their families and want shoppers to do the same.

Moreover, online shopping on Thanksgiving has been skyrocketing in recent years. According to Adobe, online sales increased by nearly 20 percent from 2016 to 2017.

You can get the best of both worlds – all you can eat turkey and deals at your fingertips!

More stores close for Thanksgiving each year, and people seem to prefer it that way. A BestBlackFriday survey of 1,069 Americans found that less than 25 percent of respondents favor stores being open on Thanksgiving.

Still, if you’re determined to get some shopping done the old fashioned way, a handful of big retailers will be open nationwide. Target, Walmart, and Best Buy are a few of the biggest stores that’ll be open for limited hours on Thanksgiving.

Otherwise, load up on food and relax! Black Friday will be there when you wake up.
